Server Issues can Ruin Your Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Efforts!   5 comments

It doesn’t surprise me when a webmaster is unaware of server issues and its impact over his Search Engine Optimization (SEO) efforts because I have seen many webmasters who hardly has any idea of SEO and all about its ranking factor but something tragic is when a Search Engine Optimizer (SEO) himself completely ignores this fact.

Server issues definitely impacts your search engine ranking or the type of server you use and its performance determines your ranking capability which means your SEO efforts are completely simply dropped if your sever is bad. The reason behind is this simple yet logical. A slow and frequently malfunctioning server always creates frustration in users because it simply doesn’t loads your website or even if it does then it take a long time and your visitors and users simply lose their patience.

So, such websites with frequent server issues is not what Google and other search engines want to recommend to internet surfers so in such case your SEO efforts are in vain because search engine simply denies your existence by completely dropping your website out of its index. Server environment, its location and its performance really matters your SEO efforts. Hence, here are some simple tips and free SEO tools to help you avoid such Server Issues:

What Server Do You Use?

Like Google and Yahoo; two leading search engines in world of internet search there are two huge competitors in the land of web servers too. Apache and Microsoft IIS are two huge web servers that almost dominate the entire web server with their name.

Ø Apache Server and SEO:

First released in 1995 Apache HTTP Server is a free open source software application generally known as Apache. It is the web server that is distinguished as the key player for the initial growth of Word Wide Web and in 2009 it was the first web server software to surpass the 100 million web sites as its milestone. And from Search Engine Optimization (SEO) point of view it is the best because some of its configurations are so flexible that it really helps your SEO.

Apache is considered to be the most flexible web server and provides you with direct access to the server even if the third party hosting providers runs your website. Apace administrators are familiar with using open-source projects like moint to restart Apace based on failed request, CPU Usage and other factors.

Ø Microsoft IIS Server and SEO:

Microsoft IIS Server is another huge web server after Apache and is continuously working hard to gain more flexibility and win the users heart. Although Microsoft IIS is that SEO unfriendly but there have are some issues that are troublesome to SEO’s. One of the main disadvantages in Microsoft IIS server is that only the administrator’s level can access to the server directly and it creates lots of frustration if your website is based on the shared server operated by third party hosting provider because you need to through them and not by yourself. Only with the dedicated IIS server you can directly have access to its server. Furthermore, it is not free and must purchase from Microsoft.

Ø Some other Servers and SEO:

In the land of web servers beside these two huge web server providers there are numerous web server providers like: Lightpd, Jigsaw, Sun Java system web server, Zeus web server but I strongly suggest to avoid them because at some corner these web servers has issue with SEO efforts and therefore many Search Engine Optimizers (SEO) suggest them to ignore them.

Hence, to run a better website that is completely SEO friendly and User friendly you should have a fast and clean server. So, you can use various free tools that can help you know the wellbeing of your website and its speed to meet the need.

Ø Server Health Checker Tool: has one free tool for everyone to check their web server status. You can simply click the link below and add your URL in the box and click Check Server Head button. Within few minutes you will be provided with the results. . Always go for better web servers that are highly Search Engine Optimization (SEO) friendly and are fast and clean enough to support your SEO efforts.
